KL Rahul slammed his 6th fifty of the series to guide India to an 8-wicket win to reclaim the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Virat Kohli: Unbelievable feeling. I think this was the best series win we have had so far. The way the guys handled situations and the way Ajinkya captained was amazing. The changes made to out fitness regime has paid off I guess. In the past we might have given away the game in a few sessions, but the way we fought was amazing. There has not been one of two individuals that have stood, it’s been a team season. Lot of credit has to go to all the boys. The kind of fitness they have showed and the desire to win was brilliant to watch. It is still a few weeks to go for me to be 100 percent on the field (talking about his shoulder injury)

Ajinkya Rahane: Really enjoyed the game. Credit to all the boys, not only in this series, but throughout the season. Really happy as a captain, unfortunately Virat got injured. We decided during lunch time on Day 1 that if we take one wicket – only Smith and Warner were scoring the runs – we can put pressure. We all had confidence in Kuldeep. I felt the bowlers from the other end also maintained the pressure. The kind of bowling Umesh, Bhuvi, Ishant, Shami did throughout the season was good to watch. I was just thinking about the Sri Lanka game when we lost chasing 130 odd runs. So I just wanted to play positively. Credit to Australia for fighting hard. I felt this was the best wicket (of the series). It is still good to bat on and very easy to score runs because of the bounce.
Ravindra Jadeja: Feels really good to be the No. 1 bowler. Really happy to be part of this No. 1 team. When I was batting, I was just thinking that I will take my time, but whatever Wade chirped from behind the stumps motivated me. To develop overall as a player was good to see in me. From one end Ashwin takes wickets, at time I take wickets from one end. So the pressure is always there. Good to bowl with him. Hopefully we will do well outside India as well. I am very confident now and I will try and make a hundred. It was a good wicket for fast bowlers because of the bounce and seam movement. Umesh and Bhuvi must have felt good about bowling first.

Steve Smith: It was a magnificent series, probably one of the best I have been part of so far. Credit to India, they are a fantastic side. It was a fantastic learning curve for us. The way we adapted to these conditions was fantastic. That middle session where we lost for five for 70 odd made the difference. I thought India bowled particularly well yesterday, especially Umesh Yadav. We have probably let a few moments slip, you can’t do that against a quality outfit like India. We have learnt a lot. It is one of the most picturesque grounds. It was a very good wicket here. I have been pretty intense throughout the series. I probably let my emotions take over at times and I apologise for that.
