Reliance Jio, the latest entrant in the telecom industry despite witnessing a meteoric rise, is not resting on its laurels. Reliance Jio opened new avenues in the sector when it announced its free offers in 2016, which sent incumbents like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular and other telcos in a tizzy. After the ‘Welcome Offer’, the trial period for Jio continued as ‘Happy New Year’ offer. But now the freebies are about to get over on March 31, after which the data on Reliance Jio will begin to be chargeable. In order to soften the sudden blow, the network service provider decided to open the floodgates of a new offer, called the Prime Membership offer. Under this new offer, users will have to pay a certain amount to become a ‘prime’ subscriber. After which there will be separate charges for data consumed by prime and non-prime members. In order to become a Prime member, subscribers need to pay Rs 99 before March 31, and a minimum of Rs 303 per month for the next one year to get unlimited internet.

Under some new offer, Reliance Jio users can get up to 10GB of free data on an early recharge. If you are a Jio subscriber and wish to opt for the Rs 149 prepaid plan, you will get 2 GB of data along with unlimited free calls, and then 1 GB of free data. Additionally, under the Rs. 303 plan, you will get 5 GB of free data along with 28 GB of data subscribers are originally entitled to. Also, in the Rs 499, Rs 999, Rs 1999, Rs 4,999 and Rs 9,999 plans you will get 10 GB of free data over and above the data originally available. Reliance Jio subscribers can also buy the new Prime membership through the digital payments app, PayTm. It is offering additional benefits on each Jio recharge including a Rs 10 cashback on joining the Rs 99 Jio Prime plan using the app. You can avail the offer by using the code ‘JioPrime’.

Additionally, Jio has also announced a limited period ‘buy one get one free recharge’ offer for users who subscribe to Jio Prime before March 31. Meanwhile, Reliance Jio has a cashback offer which can get you Prime membership for free. In a new offer announced by Reliance Jio on its JIO MONEY application. According to the new plan, if you get your recharge done using the Jio Money app, you will get a Rs 50 cashback on every recharge. Once you recharge the initial prime membership fee, you are also needed to recharge your number with Rs 303 as the monthly fee. If you recharge your number with that number using the Jio Money app, you get a Rs 50 cashback again. Hence, in total you will be getting Rs 50 + Rs 50, that is Rs 100 as cashback. This cashback covers your Rs 99 Prime membership plan, which makes it a win-win situation for both the consumer and the network service provider.
